Welcome to my new website and blog! This site is a place for stepmoms and stepdads to share their experiences. When I became a stepmom, I discovered that there just wasn’t much support out there. There are millions of blended families in this world, but, sadly, there is little help.
For me, being a stepmom was not as easy as I thought it would be. I’ve worked with kids for over 20 years in one capacity or another, so I figured this new role of stepmom would be a breeze. I loved kids! And, since I was in my forties and single, I kind of guessed I’d meet someone with kids. Perfect! Kids and me go hand in hand. Well, not so much.
What I didn’t count on is that no one wants a stepmom. So, I was in this new role where I was unwanted, and I had no idea how to handle it. And, to top it off, there was no support out there. Now, 10 years in, I’ve gained so much valuable insights that I’d love to share.
I hope my blog will offer that needed support to stepmoms and stepdads everywhere. Please share your experiences!
